Restaurants require two-headed thinking: on one hand, there is the dining experience, being attended to, enjoying fine food, drink and conversation; on the other hand, there is the frenetic world of wait staff running orders, bartenders pouring, porters, dishwashers, and, of course, chefs all doing their part in the insane ballet of food service.

Plumeri Associates called upon Arbore Design to strike the right balance between these two realms.

In two floors of completely raw, industrial space downtown, we created a brand new commercial state-of-the-art kitchen, two private dining rooms, a lofty main dining room, and a bar with a perfect vantage point of seeing and being seen from the trendy streets of TriBeCa. A green, laminated glass wall does double-duty as the "backbar" glass and liquor wall that forms a slick, yet animated edge for the main dining room. Bright, warm colors and earth tones recall the sunny hill towns of Tuscany, working in tandem with the Italian food palette.
